Pantone selected PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer for 2026—a light, airy white positioned as a calm response to a noisy visual culture.
What color is Cloud Dancer?
Cloud Dancer is not a bright blue-white or a warm cream. Its character comes from being gently softened and close to neutral. On screen, that subtlety is easy to lose: ambient light and display white point can shift the impression more than they would for a saturated color.
Why a white can be a meaningful choice
A near-white gives other materials, type, images, and colors room to become the focus. In identities and editorial systems it can signal restraint, tactility, and clarity. The risk is treating white as “nothing”; spacing, stock, finish, and contrast become the actual design.
Using Cloud Dancer in print
In print, the substrate may be the closest practical expression of the color. Flood-printing a pale tint can introduce variation, metamerism, and visible paper differences. Compare an official physical standard with actual stock samples and decide whether the paper, an ink, or a coating should create the effect.
Accessible combinations
A light neutral needs sufficiently dark text. Test the actual digital approximation for interface use, and avoid relying on a subtle boundary between Cloud Dancer and ordinary white to convey essential information.
