About the RGB value

RGB describes emitted screen light with red, green, and blue channels. This tool expects values from 0 to 255 and interprets them as standard sRGB, the common default for browsers and general digital artwork.

Pantone matching and digital color

The Pantone Matching System is a proprietary numbering system used in design and production. A Pantone spot ink can produce colors that a four-color process or an sRGB display cannot reproduce. Even when a screen value looks close, the physical sample may change with ink film, paper whiteness, coating, texture, lighting, and age of the reference guide.

The generated RGB value is intended for previews, style guides, prototypes, and communication. Keep the original Pantone 186 C reference as the source of truth whenever the job will use a spot color.
